Pride Dream Tarot Reflection: Two of Pentacles

The estimated read is 4 minutes.

It’s Pride month, and I pulled a tarot card to help us collectively reflect on this first week. It’s okay if you stumble upon this post later, though. Take what feels right for you and leave the rest. Time is a construct.

But, first…What is dream tarot?

Dream tarot is what I’ve been calling my flavor of tarot reading. When I use the term dream tarot, I mean using tarot to reflect and get closer to understanding our sleeping dreams and achieving those dreams that we have while waking.

I view it as a combination of intuitive insight using dream interpretations, symbology, astrology, numerology, and tarot cards to provide clarity and support on your personal journey and our shared collective journey.

I believe our waking and sleeping dreams directly correlate to one another, and by better understanding both, we can co-create sustainable and joyful realities.

Our Card: Two of Pentacles

The card I pulled for this month was the Two of Pentacles using the Queer Tarot deck.

Pentacles deal with the earthly realm, all things physical. They also have associations with how we spend our time and money.

Two are associated with our intuition and high priestess energy.

The message: Life is a dance! We have to balance our work and play. There will always be somewhere to go or something to do.

We have to learn to prioritize what truly matters to us. Time and how we spend it are correlated to our wealth and health. Practice being rooted in self and what makes for sustainability. Pride is more than a party. Pride is a strong and sustained community (like lions!). Sustained self. Pride is self-realization.

We have to ride the ways of uncertainty and, with each cycle of change, discern what we need to feel more certain - in our personal lives, in our work lives, in our community, and in our dreams. We got this. And don’t forget to dance.

Putting the Message into Action

So, how might we begin to embody two of pentacle energy? Here are four ways you might start to embody the Two of Pentacles (four is a number of bringing imagination and insight into reality). Try out the exercises below:

  1. Create to-do lists and start actually marking things off. I use my Notes app, Google Calendar, and Notion to keep up with tasks I must complete.

  2. Prioritize things we need to do for our sustained health and wealth (schedule that doctor appointment, look into insurance options, create a savings account (I’m a big fan of my Credit Karma High Yield Savings I opened this year)

  3. Donate to mutual aid or relief efforts that are local or global (Operation Olive Branch has been shared frequently for supporting Palestinians.) Consider how you might sustainably support causes you care about through information sharing, volunteering, or donating your money, time, or services.

  4. Make room for some fun in your calendar. I believe dancing helps the soul. I’ve personally been going to various community events, dance, and movement classes, masked, of course, 😷.

I first shared a couple of iterations of this reading on TikTok (@gato.curio). Follow me there to get video readings on your personal feed.

I’m also seeking opportunities to do more dream tarot reading at parties and events in Austin, the greater Central Texas area, and beyond. I offer various virtual dream tarot readings, which you can see on my dream tarot page.

Visit my contact page to send me questions about hosting a yoga flow, sharing sound healing at a private or public event, or perhaps doing an in-house visit for a dream tarot reading.
